New work

I'm working on a new project for a show at City Art next month. Because of where they will hang in the gallery, I needed larger pieces to make an impact.

These are the postcards so far. I'm using silk and cotton tatting thread and like the boldly colorful results. I don't have a satisfactory title for this series though. Make a suggestion and if I use it, you can have one of your very own.

Open Studios

Studio spruced up

After the move, I launched immediately into Open Studios mode. It always makes for an exhausting weekend, though it forces me to talk about my work. Introspection and explication are useful practices. I'm back in the studio today to start work on some new projects.

On the wall

Green

New work, inspired by the watercolor sketches. The wool was wet felted on my breasts and the pieces are embellished with needle felting and embroidery. Still at the experiment stage, seeing where this is going.

Shelves up
Four days of effort. Moving, unpacking, painting, and more. Things are starting to come together. I love my new studio.
